Can this be true? My surround speakers should be at least 70cm behind any wall. It shows the overhead speakers behind the surround speakers. Now looking on the Dolby's website 5.1.4 diagram: The time of an upgrade to 5.1.4 has come and I just purchased a new set of Canton speakers which are listed here (so you can see the dimensions and type of speakers): Ģx A55 for the front, 2x A45 for surround, 1x A45 CS for center, 1x A45 Sub and 4x GLE416.2 Pro speakers which I would like to use as the overhead speakers which are listed here: ![]() I also have floor standing Monitor audio speakers for my stereo, but I power them through a separate amp which sounds better for vinyl and CDs, to me. ![]() But the sound from the LG 60" TV alone is awful. I can't turn the sound up loud due to kids' bedrooms etc. what other speakers might you recommend for 4 in-ceiling round ones? Mainly for watching movies with the family. It's not an option to drill and wire another hole in the ceiling. But will this still sound good if I only use 4 of the speakers - because my room is prewired with only 4 ceiling holes (front L/R, and rear L/R - see photo), or is the center speaker critical? Can I use a soundbar as the center speaker? I have a Pioneer SC-89 AVR - which is more than I really need and it intimidates me! I plan to get help setting it all up, but I don't want to find out it sounds bad without the 5th, center speaker. Sonance has a good reputation and the price is right for me. I saw a good deal on a $600 Sonance speaker bundle from Best Buy, which comes with 5 ceiling speakers (plus a woofer). Using 4 speakers from a 5-speaker bundle? What would be your opinion for this simple 5.1.4 system? but I can't say that this set up worked better than when I had the Front Height speakers.so I returned them and reconnected the FH speakers.īut I'm wondering if placing 2 bookshelf speakers on the back wall-at the same height as the Front Height and aimed down at the couch would give me a better atmos (and DTS-X) experience than using my current ELAC? or should I place them instead high on the side walls aiming at the listening position and select Surround Height if there is such a setting in my Denon or just call them Rear Height? hmm.maybe I'm just overcomplicating things.your advice of placing them at the back top corner sounds good.but I hear that speakers don't sound their best when placed in corner. Then I got curious about the Klipsch atmos modules and I got a pair and placed them on top of the left and right front speakers. Can't say that I can hear sounds from above.and I set my Denon to Front Height and Dolby Surrounds. I tried Front Height and Dolby enable surrounds (ELAC sitting on top of the surrounds on each side of my couch). ![]() My room is not ideal- my couch is against the back wall- 12 feet away from the TV- ceiling is 9 feet tall.ceiling is flat. Hi there.I hope you get this message.I have been having some fun with my new Denon AVR4400 atmos receiver.
